The initiative

The forest restoration initiative with productive inclusion in the municipality of Serra Grande, in southern Bahia, is centered on creating an innovative credit mechanism that integrates payment for environmental services (PES) as part of repayment, alongside providing rural technical assistance (ATER) to empower family farmers in restoring Protected Areas (APPs) and converting degraded pastures into diverse productive systems capable of supplying the region. With the creation of a revolving credit fund, the initiative aims to generate scale and replicability of the mechanism across any biome and productive system.
